The Melodious Etudes for Oboe are based in the vocalises of Marco Bordogni. These vocalises are considered to be some of the most musically appealing in the vocal repertoire. Brass players are already familiar with these etudes through their use as a staple in the study repertoire of the trombone. It is often referred to as the "Rochut Book."

This complilation of fifty-four etudes is taken from the best of the Bordogni vocalises. It has been carefully selected to fit the idiosyncrasies of the oboe and is presented in a pedagogical sequence from the easiest keys and rhythms to the more difficult.
