Beethoven first used this well-known tune in 1808 in his Choral Fantasy. Years later, he used it again in the final movement of his last symphony, where he did something no composer had ever done before in a sympohny - he employed four vocal soloists and full chorus along with the orchestra. This solo sheet presents two arrangements of the same piece. The first is entirely in a five finger position in both hands. The second features a somewhat different harmonziation and expanded intervals in the left hand. Arrangement by E.L. Lancaster.
